A short film on borders — the ones drawn on land, and the ones drawn on people.
Frontières is a generative short film written and directed by Luis Cardel. It moves through landscapes that never existed to ask a very physical question: who is allowed to cross, and what a crossing costs.
01 · Narrative
A line you can feel
The film refuses maps. Borders appear as weather, as architecture, as distance between two figures in the same frame — thresholds felt before they are understood.
02 · Image
Documentary texture, invented world
Grain, handheld drift and imperfect exposure were reintroduced in post so the synthetic footage reads as recorded rather than rendered.
