The largest cetacean collection in Latin America, told through architecture, science and immersive media.
Located in Mazatlán, MUNBA is set to house the largest cetacean collection in Latin America. The museum redefines marine storytelling through a deep integration of architecture, science and immersive technology — offering visitors a holistic and emotional journey into the world of whales and ocean ecosystems.
01 · Museography
Curatorial strategy with the architecture
Commissioned to lead the full museographic concept, we worked in collaboration with architect Alejandro d'Acosta to design the entire experience inside the museum. From user-journey mapping to curatorial strategy, the project weaves scientific depth with experiential storytelling, developed closely with marine biologists and ocean specialists.

02 · Experience
From ocean lobby to robotic microscope
The experience begins with a dramatic ocean-themed lobby, followed by interactive content spanning more than half the museum: educational games, immersive sound installations and data-driven infographics. Augmented reality lets visitors meet real cetacean skeletons in their original ocean context, a robotic microscope opens plankton in real time, and a temporary gallery draws parallels between outer space and the ocean floor.

03 · Content
Species that exist, and species that no longer do
Spatial flow, interaction design and content structure were developed to reflect the emotional and ecological complexity of marine life, supported by AI-assisted 3D visualisations of both living and extinct species.
